I have my first day of school to day! The school is called “The Green School” and it looks like a lot of fun, even though it doesn't have HALF the playground my old school, Oyster River, does. I am living in a small, open roofed house. There are a lot of mosquitoes, you can’t drink the water, and the internet is HORRIBLE, but other then that, it is pretty good! There is a very big garden right in the middle of the house, and it has a papaya tree right in the middle of it. I have found most of the things here to be new and different, like mayonnaise. It comes in a squeezy bottle! And the bread is twice as thick! The water is not safe to drink though, and we need to use bottled water instead. We can still take showers, but we can’t get any water in our mouths. We went to a chocolate museum and made our own chocolate bars! First we learned how chocolate was invented, then we ground cocoa beans into a paste with a mortar and pestle, and then we made the bars. They have twenty four squares! (soon to be zero) THEN we made some drinks. There was a cocoa bean, honey, water, and chilli pepper. And a cocoa bean, milk, sugar, and cinnamon. And a tea, made out of cocoa bean husks, water, and honey. It was so much fun! I also saw my gym teacher from Oyster River there! What a wacky coincidence!
This is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteYes it is!
DeleteTalk about a small world?!? What a fun coincidence! I'm curious about three things. (1) What is so bad about the internet? (2) What flavor chocolate bar did you make? (3) How much is left?
ReplyDelete1: it is very slow, and it somtimes just stops.
Delete2: milk chocolate (but it tastes like coffee) :(
3: 8 squares.
Glad I could help!
Very interesting. The “open roof” house sounds unusual. Does that mean no roof? Is this common in your town?
ReplyDeleteP.S. That’s crazy you saw your teacher from NH. What were they doing there?
